Pioneering sustainable development in the Himalayan region since 1999
Society for Uttaranchal Development and Himalayan Action (SUDHA) has been serving the cause of people-centred, people-managed, people-controlled and people-owned development processes. We believe that sustainable development and good governance can be ensured only through active and effective involvement of the local community irrespective of caste, class or gender.
Established on 1st October 1999, SUDHA is a progressive social organization registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860. Our work spans across District Almora (Uttarakhand) and its vicinity in the fields of Training, Socio-Economic Research and Development.

Key milestones in our path to empowerment
Foundation of SUDHA
SUDHA was established with a vision to empower rural communities in the Himalayan region through sustainable development initiatives.
Expansion of Programs
Launched our first large-scale community development program, reaching over 50 villages in Uttarakhand.
Women's Empowerment
Initiated the Women's Self-Help Group program, empowering over 1,000 women through financial literacy and entrepreneurship training.
Sustainable Agriculture
Pioneered organic farming initiatives, training over 500 farmers in sustainable agricultural practices.
Pandemic Response
Launched COVID-19 relief efforts, providing essential supplies and support to over 10,000 families across Uttarakhand.
National Recognition
